Roadmap Implementation
The work of the Roadmap rests on 3 broad pillars:
These activities all need to relate to the priorities of the different clusters of the roadmap.
The implementation process of the Roadmap is envisioned to be a sector-wide process with a range of partners and organisations contributing to the implementation of the Roadmap in different ways.
In order to support this sector-wide, sector-driven implementation process the DSTI and WRC have partnered to place a Roadmap coordination function into the WRC:
The key coordination activities have included:

Prioritization and Project Management
Manage and report on a suite of priority interventions within available budgets, and track and communicate emerging priorities and opportunities through the MANCO;

Partnerships and Investment
Develop and manage partnerships with water RDI role players that enable new Water RDI funding contributions; and improved research, development and innovation capacity in the system.

Governance and Positioning
Influencing strategies, policies, processes and plans to drive the vision of the RDI Roadmap and ensure effective governance of CIU and linked resources in line with global best practices.
Be part of shaping South Africa’s future by engaging with the Water RDI Roadmap. Together, we can drive innovative solutions, strengthen partnerships, and create sustainable water systems for generations to come. Whether you’re in research, policy, business, or education, your contribution matters. Let’s collaborate for a water-secure South Africa and beyond!
